The biggest draw, of course, is the beach – one vast playground of seven unbroken miles of gently-sloping golden sand. But your customers probably know about that already, so what else should Bournemouth Ambassadors be recommending?
The very latest addition to the town’s attractions is the UK’s first-ever multi-purpose Coastal Activity Park, which opened in 2014 on Boscombe seafront.
Stretched along 1.5 kilometres of beach around Boscombe Pier, the Park’s facilities include beach volleyball, beach tennis, dinghy park, beach football,, table-tennis tables and a 16-unit outdoor gym trail.
Watersports schools offer stand-up paddle-boarding, surfing, body-boarding, kayaking and more, and there’s dedicated zone for kite- and wind-surfers. There is even a new dance studio, offering a packed programme of classes.
Bouldering is another great activity for people to enjoy, free and open to all. There are three different boulders, shaped to resemble Durdle Door, Old Harry Rocks and Agglestone Rock. There are staff led sessions if needed (all under 16’s must be supervised by an adult).
If your guests are musical, suggest that they visit the musical trail on Boscombe Pier. This is free and available to both adults and children. There are six different types of musical instruments to experience.
Alternatively at Bournemouth Pier, your visitors can make a visit to the new Rock Reef. This is an all year, all weather Adventure Activity Attraction on Bournemouth Pier featuring the Pier Zip. At the heart of the Pier you will find the brand new Rock Reef Centre featuring 4 great attractions in one, bringing the great outdoors indoors. There are 25 Clip N’ Climb challenges, The Pier Cave adventure, High Line aerial obstacle course as well as a vertical drop slide, and the leap of faith jumping challenge. At the end of the pier there is the Pier Zip tower with a dual zip wire straight to the shore. over the sea and landing on Bournemouth beach.
