Bournemouth boasts a packed programme of events year round, the biggest of which is the Bournemouth Air Festival held each year in August.

Wheels Festival

The Wheels Festival celebrates wheeled vehicles ranging from  skateboards and BMX bikes to vintage sports cars and monster trucks.

The Bournemouth 7’s  festival in May involves rugby, netball, cross fit and dodgeball teams competing in an action packed weekend. There are 10 festival arenas with an array of entertainment, live music and shows.  More specific details can be found on their website: http://www.bournemouth7s.com

Cars on the PromClassic Cars on the Prom sees up to 130 Classic cars on display every Sunday afternoon (mid-April – September) behind the BIC.  In August, family entertainment in the Lower Gardens is on hand at the Kids Family Fun Festival with free family activities, including magicians, puppet shows and clowns.

The annual Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival in October is multi-art form and attracts international artists as well as presenting some of the best regional and local artists. Visit the website here

Dozens of Alpine chalets line the town square for Bournemouth’s Christmas Festival from mid-November to early January.  Christmas shoppers can snap up authentic seasonal gifts and yuletide foods, while a Victorian carousel, choirs and bands supply a touch of Christmas magic. There is also a seasonal ice rink in the Lower Gardens by the Bournemouth Balloon as well as an indoor one at the Bournemouth International Centre.

There’s top-flight football at Goldsands stadium in Kings Park where AFC Bournemouth – the Cherries – take on their Premier League rivals.
