There are Shopmobility units at the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe and at Castlepoint Shopping Centre. These offer a wide range of equipment including electric scooters, and manual and powered wheelchairs, which can be hired on a daily or long loan basis.

Bournemouth Station has step free access from both station entrances to the platforms. Passengers who need to make special journey arrangements need to give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

Both Transdev Yellow Buses and Morebus operate modern, low-floor easy access buses and welcome assistance dogs. Morebus also offers built-in ramps to enable wheelchair users to board buses. Disabled visitors to Bournemouth can benefit from free off-peak bus travel.

A number of Bournemouth taxi companies operate vehicles adapted for wheelchair access. It is advisable to book these in advance.
